The Song/Chant, “Soul Shine Bright” was specifically written for The New Earth One Network’s virtual 2023 December Solstice gathering by Lisa Wexler.
Lisa Wexler and Doug Hammer collaborated to bring a message of healing & peace into form. Lisa’s vocals express the strength of one’s soul returning from & being birthed from darkness. Doug’s imaginative piano improvisation & percussion brings light & depth to Lisa’s song/chant.
Lisa Wexler – Bio –
Lisa Wexler is a soul-heart-spirit focused songwriter, artist & poet.
Originally trained as an Illustrator & Designer in the 1970’s, Lisa made the decision within the next decade to focus on using the arts to help others to heal through creative expression. Lisa trained as an Expressive Therapist & Social Worker during the late 1980’s & 1990’s. She spent four decades of her professional life working with individuals & groups of children, teens & older adults. Lisa’s longtime engagement with the arts for personal self-healing using art, music & writing in a multitude of forms has been a welcome balance with professionally supporting others’ healing.
Lisa has written songs for 50 years. Writing songs & composing music is a deep form of communion for her with self, soul, spirit & the Cosmos.
Lisa began writing folk songs, She branched out to writing gospel, pop, musical theater & jazz styled songs over the decades. Lisa’s songs bring her comfort, joy, healing & inspiration. It is also her intention to convey messages of caring, transformation, truth & justice through her songs.
When Lisa was in her twenties she was musically partnered with singer- songwriter-performer Linda Marks. Lisa has been an active part of The Boston based Women In Music Gathering group for the past five years.
Lisa has performed at The Burren in Somerville as part of their annual WIMG show. Lisa enjoys bringing her songs to local open mics.

Doug Hammer – Bio –
Doug Hammer is a multi-award winning musician, composer, producer, arranger and sound engineer. He has had a multitude of plays of his originally composed and played music on streaming and radio venues.
His music regularly tops charts. He has performed at New York’s prestigious Carnegie Hall. Doug’s 17 has created and released 17 CD’s. His most recent album, “Swim To America.Volume 2 (one retrospective Stephen Eicher au Piano) is the 2nd of his 3 album cover projects featuring the music of Stephen Eicher, Swiss rocker and pop chanteur, re-imagined for solo piano.
